Time to challenge ourselves, and this time, I chose expressions!!!! Aren’t you tired of drawing the same “pin-up” type of girl looking nowhere with no expression in her face but still wearing a cool costume? Well, I sure am, so this week I am going to get expressions right once and for all! On previous weeks I tackled the human head, the mouth, and a screaming face expression. I learned a lot from those lessons, and from that knowledge I think I have the formula to understanding not one, but all facial expressions.
I believe that by learning where the face stretches the most and where it doesn’t lies the secrete to learning all the shapes and volumes of the face when it’s moving. The stretchy parts of the face do not have a lot of range of movement by themselves, but when they work all together they make the amazing expressions we have in our faces. So after experimenting a bit I decided to check if there were any good tutorials around that might help me a bit, and here are the three best tutorials I found! Enjoy!
